Apr 03, 2017· Hi everyone. My sharpening plans got put on hold for almost a year, but last weekend I got lucky and found a used Viel belt sander with a 1/4hp motor at a garage sale. It looks like an older one and the table doesn''t have the groove to accept sliding jigs. It also has an extra wheel at the back.

I am just wondering if you have overlooked the important fact that the OP is a complete beginner with a good quality knife asking for advice to sharpen his knife.
