Jul 01, 2007· This paper considers some of the control issues in hot rolling mills. Hence to set the context, first we give a brief description of a typical process. The role of a hot strip mill process is to roll the slabs produced in a continuous casting process and produce strips of thickness –20 mm. Fig. 1 shows a typical layout of a hot strip mill.
